Karen A. Kennedy

Ms. Kennedy is a founder and principal of TKS since its inception in 2003 and has been active in the field of preservation for over 12 years. She has extensive experience in conducting historic structures surveys as well as state and national register listings in the Tri-State area. She holds a Master of Science degree in Historic Preservation from Columbia University's Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation as well as a Master of Science degree in Business and Human Resources Management from the New School for Social Research. Ms. Kennedy also has experience in the fields of cultural resource management and historic tax credits.

Prior to forming TKS Historic Resources with Sarah Apmann, Ms. Kennedy worked as an independent preservation consultant for private companies and non-profit organizations.  Some of her clients included Buckhurst Fish & Jaquemart of New York City, Village of Babylon Historical and Preservation Society and the Huntington Historical Society.
